t/f core is made up of silicon steel which is having low
value of steinmetz constant.this helps in the reduction of
the hysterisis losses considerably.

crgo is used as core in transformers to reduce iron and
frequency losses. but now a days Ampourpose is using as a
core. b'coz its thickness is very less compared to crgo and
core losses also compared to less. but little more costly.

Transformers for use at power or audio frequencies
typically have cores made of high permeability silicon
steel. The steel has a permeability many times that of free
space, and the core thus serves to greatly reduce the
magnetising current .
