Generally we recevied power supply from HT.In HT side there
will be not available neutral source so in primery side we
given delta connection. But in secondary side we must need
nuetral for three phase & single phase equipments so we
will create from oueself (create from earthings) so here
the connection must be a star connection.

AS the transmission line are designed in KVA rating which
are so to reduce the size of conductor and to reduce the
cost so at primary side it is always Delta connections and
for distributaion site it is star cinnection with a line
voltage of220 volt and all electrical equiments are
designed for the same voltage in india

we use delta connection in prymary becouse in prymary we
need step up the voltege & in delta connection line voltage
is more then phase voltage & we use star in secondry bcoz
in star connection provide us nutral which is nessery for
distibution because all home applances work with phase &
nutral so we use star connection in distribution end.

Nuetral in used in single phase system and 3 phase 4 wire
systeme due to we star connection in secondory. in primary
used 3 phase system.but suresh kumar why not convert
voltage from 400v to 33kv.p/s explain the reason.
