POWER LOSS IS ISQUARE R.WHEN WE HAVE TO REDUCE POWER LOSS IN
LONG TRANSMISSION LINE ,WE HAVE TO REDUCE THE CURRENT I. FOR
THE SAME LOAD POWER LOSS CAN BE REDUCED BY INCREASING THE
POWER FACTOR.

We have to increse the transmission voltage and current can
be reduced so losses will be less

To reduce power loss in HV line u have to reduce current in
trasmission line so voltage will remain as high as
pssible.so u can overcomes from more voltage dropp. For
reducing current in line u have to apply the formula R =
L/A.Where L leanth of conductor and A = circumfanc of
conductor. In ur case lenth of con. is long.so to reduce R u
have to increace A(Thick cable). If R is reduced then losses
of voltage will less but it will also increase your capital
cost of cable transmission.Other way is you can us step up
X'mer at some distance u can improve ur voltage trnsmission
but in this cas also capital cost of ur extra x"mer will
more and also some loss in X"mer is also there.
So u have to select a methode as per ur industrial
aplication.

to reduce power loss in transmission lines
1)the voltage will have to be increased .but there will be
limitaions for this also
2) the distace between conductors should be as long as
possible to reduce inductance in case of ac transmission
3) highly conducting meterials based on the economy have to
be taken such as aluminium
4)power factor should be more .the more the power factor is
the less the current is .so losses are reduced
5)hvdc transmission is also another option

By reducing current because 'cu' loss depends on current

in three 3.5 core aluminium ug cable. one cable is used for one phase by shrting R,Y and B wires and other 2 cables used for Y and b phases. balace 3 neutral wires are made common and connected to load. suddenly neutral current was more than line current what is the reason behind this?
why the neutral point is zero in star connection?

what is the difference between elcb, rccb, mcb.
bit confused - am i correct in thinking that to determine line to line voltage in a star config 110v 3 phase 4 wire distribution system i would use a voltmeter? I have a circuit configured as an unbalanced load, consisting of three incandescent lamps (1x40w, 1x60w, 1x100w - all 110v rated)connected in a star configuration to a 110v 3 phase 4 wire distribution system. I want to find out what types of meters i would use to obtain: a) each line to line voltage b) the line to neutral voltage across each load c) current flowing in each line and load d) current flowing in the neutral conductor e) power supplied to the loads im assuming i would be using ammeters in series along each line and voltmeters in parallel across each line to neutral? Also how could i predict these meter readings before taking them and with which formulae? Any help would be greatly appreciated A.
