Normally, CT is a Current Transformer. If the load current
is high, then this high current is allowed to pass through
its primary. Proportional load current is available at its
secondary. So a suitable meter can be connected to read the
secondary current which is proportional to the actual load
current. CT has its own capacity to give proportional
output current of its primary current. Upto certain
designed value CT gives proper proportional output of
primary current. But if primary current exeeds its primary
current designed value then CT does not respond to the
primary current proportionally but instead, the output
remains constant without any variations proportional to
primary or load current. This means CT is saturated.

A CT saturates when a greater current is passed though it
than it was designed for, the way to test a CT (not design)
is to inject it with current until the curve flattens out,
the transistion curve is known as the knee point. It is not
calculated as such.

when we apply voltage between the secondary upto certain
limit it draws some mA exactly at the knee point the mA
will be double and if we cross the knee point then the CT
gets Saturated.
any of these effects are possible:
1.angle error
2.ratio error
3.secondary gets open
4.secondary simply acts as a conductor showing no ratio

CT have some capacity to current carring at some voltage
level but some time we give more voltage to his capacity
that time ct passes more current up its capacity.

ct saturate means when ct is open cicuite on load ct making
more sound and flashed.

The MCB circuit breaker have a voltage rating of 440VAC it's possible to supply a voltage of 480Vac
say a transformer is designed for 33/11kv step down with ratio 0.33 for load 1 mva. if am giving 11kv as a input that same transformer what will happen to its o/p voltage. and whether it can be operated for 500kva
in the Distribution system .which one is Most Economically used by Power Engineer ? a)3 Phase3 wire System or b) 3Phase -4wire System
What is the criteria for deciding whther fire wall is required between two power transformers
megger how much voltage will produce ?
What are the necessary components of the feedback control system?
I have 10 amp MCB for my air conditioner of 1.5 ton capacity. When I connect the ac direct it is started running but when connected through stabliser the Mcb Get trip and air conditioner couldn't start.please confirm whether Mcb is required to be upgraded to 20 amp. There is no fault in ac and the stabliser. Please advice the reason of tripping the mcb when connected through the stabliser.
what is the difference between power transformer & distribution transformer and what are their ratings respectively?
in one substation we have two power transformers of 100mva,75mva capacity.statoin load is155mva.how much each tranformers share the load????
