The ratio of the sum of the individual maximum demands of
the various parts of a power distribution system to the
maximum demand of the whole system. Note: The diversity
factor is always greater than unity.

DIVERSTY FACTOR IS DEFINED AS THE RATIO OF SUMMATION OF ALL
MAXIMUM DEMAND FROM LOAD SIDE TO THE MXIMUM DEMAND ON POWER
SUPPLY SYSTEM..HENCE IT IS ALWAYS GREATER THAN 1..BECAUSE
IT IS THE RARE CASE WHEN ALL CONSUMERS ON POWER SYSTEM
REQUIRE THIER MAXIMUM DEMAND.

Diversity factor is the ratio of the sum of individual Max
demands to the Max demand on the power station. Diversity
factor is always greater than UNITY. The greater diversity
factor is lesser cost of generation of power.

It is the ratio of the sum of the individual non-coincident
maximum demands of various subdivisions of the system to
the maximum demand of the complete system. The diversity
factor is always less than 1.
For example if we have 0.7 diversity factor then it means
that the device operates at its nominal or maximum load
level 70% of the time that it is connected and turned on.

Demand always Diversity factor is defined as the ratio of
actual required maximum demand on power supply system to
summation of all
Maximum demand from load side
Hence it is 0.4 to 0.8 based on type of load
(Because equipments or consumer are not use maximum demand
always)

Answer / rajesh
Diversity factor is actually factor considered while
designing the power supply. Though system would be designed
for full load but at any given time generally 60-70% of
loads would work. Hence diversity factor would always be
less than 1.
