Shunt trip coil usually mounted in circuit breaker
and activate on the receiving of any fault signal and
tripped to circuit breaker on status of TRIP

When measuring the Insulation resistance of a motor winding (winding to earth) using a megger meter, Applied voltage(1000V) was automatically reduced to 500V. and the measured insulation resistance values are also very low (in Kohm range) Can anyone give me a reason???

Why we Do not connect the windings of the motor in delta? & what would happen if we do that? I mean the winding themselves not the three lines that are coming to the motor?
