how a circuit breakers work at fault condition .plz give a specified answer.
Answer / jithendra
circuit breakers works mainly for protection of circuit
so it needed to trip when fault occurs
inside the breakers current transformers (CT's) are placed for sensing the fault
Breaker are operated with closing, triping, shunttrip & Under&over voltage coils
Through ct's fault will sense then pulse will be given to
the triping coil at that time breaker will trip
Breaker will have these faults protections
OVER LOAD
EARTH FAULT
INSTANTANEOUS CURRENT
SHORT CIRCUIT CURRENT
