What is the minimum permissive IR value for LT & HT motor for safe starting?..

Answer / vinoth

IR means Insulation Resistance. basically IR value need is ( Rated KV+1 ) Mohm.
For eg if motor rated voltage is 11Kv then we need IR value has 12Mohm.

Minimum 1Mohm is sufficient to start LT motors.

For HT Motor- ( Rated KV +1)Mohm
