What will happen if power transformer designed for 50 Hz is
connected to 500 Hz of the same voltage , and vice versa ?
Answer / deepak24
Iron Loss:- proportional to Frequency
Copper Loss:- Proportional to square of the frequency
If a transformer of rating 50 Hz connected to 500 HZ frequency then Iron Losses and Copper losses in the transformer increased and efficiency decrease. it is to be noted that losses are dissipated as heat so transformer may get effected.
