first of all it si wave trap. now for communication purposes of tele \protection a high frequency wave is superimposed on the power wave.in wave trap there is a high frequency filter but lets say it is a capacitor .now you can see when high frequency signals come the impedance of the wave ttrap is near about zero. but for power frequency signals it is very high.this is how it works

Actually the Line traps are connected with HV netwoks, It
blocks the carrier frequency to pass through in unwanted
direction and make those sigals to pass in desired direction.
I need to know how it blocks the signal..?
