be 447.6 kW i.e 527 KVA considering 0.85 power factor

Contract demand is based on demand factor which to be
assessed or obtained from a similar industry.Once you enter
into agreement with the supplier ,you will have to pay the
demand charges during the entire period of agreement.If you
take the demand factor as 0.8 ,your CD will be 425 KVA at
0.85 pf..You can start with a lower value and ask for
sanction of additional CD if the MD exceeds the CD.Normally
you are unlikely to be penalized for exceeding CD during one
month ,depending on prevailing supply rules .

we have one pumping station and 4.6 MW 7 no.s synchronous motors.so there is no required HT capacitor to improve power factor.But we have two no.s of 25 Mva power transformer connect to distribute the power for motors connect with 220 kv line.So i have required the HT capacitor to improve power factor at HT side i mean power transformer bus side.So please suggest how much HT capacitor banks required for same.

i need to connect fact device(any one from following upsc,sssc,svc,statcom and tcsc)in 14 bus system....by using MATLAB psat software....if i connect these fact devices,i will get some error as "virtual error"...i cnt rectify this error.if anybody know that how to work in psat,pls help me to rectify this error.... or send mail me to, viki0607@yahoo.co.in
