Answer / swabijit

the form factor of sinusoidal ac supply is 1.1,now the
voltage is given based on rms value, avg value gives rounded
valus...i dont get it from any book its my concept so is it

why we step/down voltage in multipul of 11kv? ..

Answer / sahil

this we do from the protection pt of view.
the insulators on the towers(ceramic disc type), their single unit is designed to protect from 11kv. this voltage is suitable according the mechanical and electrical constraints.
that's why on a 33kv tower you might see 3-5 discs of the insulator(discs never less than v to be protected from).

i work as a technician at a private company.. i used to take amp reading for certain appliances such as air con.. the problem is when i clamp the neutral, wire there is a current reading.. from my understanding for single phase system neutral should not have current unless if the circuit is not complete.. yet the air con still work
