The steps usually involve comparing the output of the vibration probe to the known input from the calibration source. n3) Root Mean Square (RMS) value in vibration measuring application is a measure of the effective or equivalent vibration level, which quantifies the magnitude of vibration regardless of its waveform. It can be calculated using the formula: sqrt[(sum(vi^2)/N)] where vi is the individual instantaneous velocity and N is the number of measurement samples.
