electric shock is due to current r voltage.?..

Answer / cyril

Electric shock due to electric power not because of current and also because of voltage.
The reason is we transmitting only electric power not a voltage or current.
Also with out voltage electron movement is not possibale so electric shock due to electrical power

electric shock is due to current r voltage.?..

Answer / kingshuk dey

This is an age old question!! And is a hot topic for debate!! Anyway, here's the answer to your question, simplified as much as possible.

First off, current flows due to voltage. If you touch a live wire and you're also connected to ground, such that an electric potential develops, then current will flow through you. This current causes the damage to the body, giving a "shock".

Let's assume I hire an assassin to kill Mr.X. The assassin does the damage (shock) by killing Mr.X, but the reason is ME (because I hired the assassin).

Hence the culprit is the Voltage, the killer is the current.
Hence, voltage is the cause and current is the effect (shock).

electric shock is due to current r voltage.?..

Answer / k.prakashchandra

Voltage is responsible for passing of current through the
body ,which gives shock. As the voltage increases, the
current also increases, resulting in higher intensity of shock.

Is This Answer Correct ?    3 Yes 2 No

electric shock is due to current r voltage.?..

Answer / k.prakashchandra

Hence shock is due to voltage and damage done is due to power

Is This Answer Correct ?    4 Yes 3 No

electric shock is due to current r voltage.?..

Answer / cg

For a 'Shock', we can say in one sentence that Voltage gradient is the cause and current flow is the effect due to which the 'shock' is received.
When a person touches a Current carrying conductor, a large voltage gradient is developed between the conductor and the ground 'through' the body of that person, the body becomes a path for a huge amount of current to flow through him to the ground as we all know earth is a 'potential sink'.Thus he receives a huge shock and due to the heat produced, one gets burnt or charred if severe shock is received.
