Dear I would like discuss in deep beams problem in design and serviceability. please contribute to..

Answer / mmh356

Because the geometry of deep beams, their behavior is
different with shallow beams especially they behave as two-
dimensional action rather than one-dimensional action. The
assumption of plane section remain plane cannot be used in
the deep beam design and the shear deformation cannot be
neglected as in the ordinary beam. Thus the load path for a
point load applied at the top of a deep beam will follow a
rather direct path from the loading point toward the points
of support, which appears to depart fairly from that of a
typical bending behaviour for a point load applied at the
top of a shallow concrete member.
