motor runs for some time with less speed because one of the
phase is gone and current increases in two phases,after
some time if no protection act than motor will burn.

if one of the phase of induction motor is failled then it
will rotate but it draws higher current from the supply
mail and if insulation is poor or not able to withstand
the supply current then after some time it will burn.

single phasing occur on motor so motor run 50%load for some time and draw more current causes more current overheating of motor and motor will burn after a certain time
