In case of foundation like Load Bearing , Isolated footing
or raft , Total excavation calculated as per plan & require
depth form NGL & deduct the total qty of pcc cc or B/w up
to NGL,then total balance qty is known as backfill.Approx
60% qty.of excavation is required for back fill.

In case of building it will be 60%
In case of normal excavation it will be 90% without compaction
In case of compaction it will be 100%
