Peak purity in HPLC is nothing but SPECTRUL PURITY not
Chemical purity. In HPLC Each peak is combination of many
data points. Each data point is having SPECTRUM. In peak
purity calculation each data point SPECTRUM is compared
with SPECTRUM of Peak apex Data point. In this we can
compare deferent region data points with Peak apex Data
point SPECTRUM. At that time we consider Base line noise,
Solvent noise etc.... we can select wave length range
also....
Always Purity angle is less than threshold then only Peak
Purity can pass.
Best Example: Isomers
Both isomers can show same spectrum but chemically they
are different. In this case if we get single peak also our
Peak Purity can Pass because our Peak apex Data point
SPECTRUM and deferent regions in that Peak data points
SPECTRUM is SAME.

IT IS DEFINED AS PURITY OF A PERTICULAR PEAK THAT IT IS NOT
COELUTED WITH OTHER IMPURITIES
PURITY=RATIO OF ABSORBANCE B/W THE ROOT OF UP SLOPE AND
APEX/RATIO OF ABSORBANCE B/W THE ROOT OF DOWN SLOPE AND APEX
IF THE PURITY=1, PURE PEAK

to identify whether the particular peak is single or
combination of peaks.
if angle is less than threshold the peak is pure.
if angle is more than threshold the peak is impure.

Peak purity is nothing but purity angel should be less than purity threshould
Purity angel is a measure of the spectrul hetrogeneity of the peak based on the spectrum overall the peak using spectrum constract angel.
Spectral constract angel is defined as the shape difference between two spectra.
Purity threshould is a minimum purity of the reference standard in the formulation.

Peak purity we have to check through the PDA detector. It
should be NLT99%.Peak purity we can check in 3D from uv to
visible range.
