Answer / sanjeeda syed
latch is sensitive to level value where as flip_flop is
triggered by edge value.latch has enable signal and
flipfloop has clock signal

latch: latch is a level triggered device means that it is
sensitive to the duration of pulse.
flip flops: flip flops is a edge triggered device means that
it is sensitive to a signal change (low to high or high ti
low)and not the level.

i am having confusion that how can a flip flop be a level
sensitive....the only difference which i see between then
one is event based while other is not....if a normal clock
is given as input to a flip flop it will work when clock is
high.....we just introduce the edge trigeering so that
output doesnt propagate more then once i a single clock period

the latch and flipflop are same but they both differ in their excitation states

clock pulses should be given to the flipflop. but latches
don't need clock pulses.

latch is memoryless device whereas flip flop has.

latch can be used to store 1 bit of information. It will
"latch" the logic level which is present on the data line
when the clock input is high.
latches are used as temporary buffer whereas flip flops are
used as registers.
flip flops can be consider as basic memory cell
latch is a level triggering device while flip flop is edge
triggering.
when a circuit is edge triggered, the output can change only
on the rising or falling edge of the clock while in case of
level clock output can change when the clock is high or low

flip flop and latch both have a clock but flip flop is asynchronous, latch is synchronous.
