What is the basic difference between Latches and Flip flops?
Answer Posted / thanku kuttu george
latch can be used to store 1 bit of information. It will
"latch" the logic level which is present on the data line
when the clock input is high.
latches are used as temporary buffer whereas flip flops are
used as registers.
flip flops can be consider as basic memory cell
latch is a level triggering device while flip flop is edge
triggering.
when a circuit is edge triggered, the output can change only
on the rising or falling edge of the clock while in case of
level clock output can change when the clock is high or low
