The correct procedure to Shut down VCB is to first trip the
VCB through Manual/electrical command . Then open the
Downstream(outgoing) isolator earth it for any trapped
charges. repaeat the same with the Upstream(Incoming)isolator.

2. Separation (Trip the Breaker)
3. Isolation (Isolator isolates)
4. Earthing & Short circuit (Earthing)
5. Screening & Marking the area (Barricading the work area)

1)First need to obtain isolation permit(work permit)
2)Confirm substation no., breaker no.
3)Inform to control engineer
4)Transfer the load from LV side
5)First need to trip the vcb(electrically or manually)
6)Disconnect DS switch (isolator)
7)Need to close the earth switch (ES)
