What will happen if we give transformer a dc not ac

Answer / iamdon
If we supply DC to primary of transformer no emf is induced
in primary side(Accordibg to Faraday laws). It means whole
applied voltage is droped in primary winding resistance
which is very low.So high current will flow through the
primary winding which ultimately burn the primary winding.

If DC is applied to the Power Transformer, this is basically a inductive coil, as freq. is zero is DC, inductive reactance offered is zero i.e. XL=0, then it is as good as short circuiting the DC power supply, if the DC power supply can feed that much current, then that power transformer wdg will burn or due to its resistance the wdg may get heated up.

No flux will generat and primary takes high current and may burn

Answer / jyoti
NO FLUX WILL TRANSFER FROM PRIMARY SIDE TO THE SECONDARY
SIDE.HENCE THE TRANSFORMER DOESN'T PERFORM.

if current is very high it may burn out the windings
but if current is low then primary winding acts as an inductor

How would you supply power to a village which is very far from a sub-station and has only a 11kV line running near by?
How to calculate HV Cable Sizing & what are the factors to be considered for selection?.
If one d.g. is unable to take full load of system, then second d.g. will take care of partly Load.for this condition RPM of both DG set should be equal.By using Synchronization panel RPM of dg sets are match, is it true?
why power generate in 33 kv it will be step down by 11 kv .
what is the minimum insulation resistance for HT AND LT motor ?

my UPS suddenly goes off and all panel light also blow off. This happens even main electric supply is not interrupted. After some time it automatically starts functioning normally.Batteries are new.
How do we check transformer losses and what are the ways to minimise it.
While connecting the flood light plug on to the 415 V distribution panel, there was spark and the cable got burnt. Three ignitors of the flood light also burnt of. The lamps are of 400 W (total 6 lamps) connected through 1.5 mm2 cable. The plug was immediately removed from the circuit. There was a 30 mA RCD connected and a 250 A MCCB; however both did not trip. What could be the possible reasons for the circuit devices not to trip? Can someone assist please. Additional info if needed can be provided.
