remve all or most of
exhst gases out of
cylinder...

When completion suction stroke air with high pressure takes
inside the cylinder then both inlet & oulet valves remains
closed and when compression stroke starts high pressure air
is forced out to engine through outlet valve, inlet valve
remains open when suction stroke takes place..
