What is the purpose of engine preheating?
Answer / vaga guru
When ever you start a engine the reciprocation of piston &
internal moving parts starts, which develops friction & heat
in the body. To form a thin layer between moving parts to
reduce friction Lub oil is required which also take away the
heat from moving parts. This lub oil has certain viscocity
due to which it will not able to move immediately after
start of engine to all parts of body. To ensure lub oil
movement to all parts of body it requires preheating which
makes lub oil active & there by safegaurd the engine.
