can BO generate reports with out CUBICAL data to repository?

In BO the cubic structre cannot be perfomed
it's not supported for building the cubicstructure where as
the cognos will support.

Business Objects can create the reports without Cubical
data also.
Ex: In the Fullclient application of BO we can create the
report based on the excel sheet. Just create the excel
sheet having two rows and select the dataprovider as the
Excel sheet and Run it, You will get the BO report.
That means you are not having the CUBICAL DATA at the
souce, even though you can generate BO reports.

Yes, BO can generate reports without Cubical data. The
above answer is right, apart from these options you can
write,direct sql's and also PL/SQL.
Cubical data are only to support datawarehouse concepts.
Apart from these BO can act as a normal reporting tool like
Crystal Reports.

I am working on Business Objects-reporting side. Database is Teradata. I have two questions here: 1. We will be working only on Infoview on QA environment. Do I need to add ODBC entries for the QA database server on my machine to be able to create/refresh Infoview reports? I will not be using Desk_I or Web_I rich client. 2. Once reports are developed,Admin team would migrate the reports to Production and make these available to business users. The reports are Refresh on Open. Would the business users need to have the ODBC entries of Production database server in their machines to be able to refresh these reports?

I have 2 doubts regarding the "Input Control" functionality in BI4: 1) Can the Input Controls in BI4 be manipulated? I have two data providers with common dimension and measures. The only difference between two data providers is in condition 'Fiscal Year'.One data provider calculates for current year and other one calculates for previous year. So in prompts if I am passing 2008 as current year then the two data providers should be able to calculate for current year and previous year individually. So Can anybody tell me how to do calculation in data providers. ( I am using BO WebI report )
