AS PER USP ROI MEANS WE WILL KEEP AT 800°AND SULPHATED ASH
MEANS WE WLLL KEEP AT 600°BOTH WILL BE THE SAME BUT
CONDITIONS WILL BE DIFFERENT

If we ignite the compound directly in muffle furnace then
the formed residue is called residue on ignition.but if we
ignite the compound after addition of sulphuric acid,the
the formed residue is called sulphated ash.

Residue on ignition and sulphate ash is remaining same
except ignition temperature.
As per USP it is Residue on ignition(Ignited at 800°C +/-
25°C)
As per BP and EP it is called as Sulphate ash (ignition
temperature of 600°C +/- 50°C).
