AC transmission is used as compared to DC because for
following reason... AC can be transformed to low current
high voltage configuration using transformer. Conductor size
required will be less and hence more economical...... 2nd
reason which is main reason is AC is bidirectional hence has
ability to move in both the directions ...
DC can be transformed according to need but costly
rectifiers are neede heence for buulk power transmission ac
is used... correct me if wrong.....

all line are ac because earlier it is economical to gernate convert voltage at higher level only using transformer.since in transmission require high voltage that why maximum line are ac in transmission but now a days seeing importance of dc and due to power electronic we convert dc volatage at high voltage..so hvdc is used

normally most of the equipments are used as AC. for
ecnomical reason.. we need inverter to change DC to AC.. in
all area .. so For long Transmission only we Transmitted DC
power...
ie DC is less transmission loss compared to AC .. but we
cant utlise the power with out inverter..

What is the need of earthing transformer for delta side of a transformer. (Think of a line section between a star/delta transformer at a grid substation and delta/star transformer at a village. An earthing transformer is there at the delta side of the star/delta transformer at grid substation). As there are no ground reference there will not be fault current if a one phase is grounded. Further L-L phase will be sensed by the primary side of star/delta transformer as a L-G fault. So why an earthing transformer is required at delta side
