Answer / friend
pile foundations are one of the types of deep foundations.
they are used in case soft/silty/clayey type of soils.
As in such case of soils going for normal foundations may
not be possible either from economical point of view or may
not be possible at all in case u want to construct near
seashore etc.,
these are the foundations which transfer load to greater
depths, where there is strong strata / load reaching that
point is minimal.
these are pipe shaped, we have different types of pile
foundations.

pile foundation is a type of deep foundation which is
prefered in case of encounter of upper soil strata of lower
bearing capacity. In order to transfer the loads of the
superstructure to a strata of high bearing capacity deep
below the ground such as rock strata pile foundation is
used.

Pile foundation is one type of deep foundation.this is used
to transmit structural load to soil by friction as well as
end bearing to restrict the settlement of the structure.

piles are relatively long, slender members that transmit
foundation loads through soil strata of low bearing
capacity to deeper soil or rock strata having a high
bearing capacity.

pile foundation is tha type of deep foundation, which carry
the load of superstructure from upper strta of soil to the
lower strta.
if the bearing capacity of upper strta is lower then pile
foundation in necessary to trnsfer the load in lower strta.

Answer / haruna muazu
pile foundation is a type of foundation usually a deep
foundation used in a case of silty, soft and clayey soils
which are driven or hammered through the soil to a
considerable hard strata beneath soil surfaces and
transmitting top and minimal loads of superstructures into
the ground.

Answer / alok
Pile foundation is a type of deep foundation which is used
to transfer the load of superstructure by means of surface
friction or end bearing or both. These are used to prevent
vertical settlement as well as to restrict the lateral
forces such as wind and earthquake forces.
These are generally used where soil is not having good
bearing capacity at lower depths or is not at all present at
lower depths as in the case of houses constructed over
submerged area.
