what should be the no load current of an induction motor..

Answer / arun kokje

IT IS DEPENDING ON NUMBER OF POLES OF THE MOTOR.SAY FOR
2POLE AND 4POLE MOTORS IT IS APPROX. 20-30% OF FULL LOAD
CURRENT,FOR 6POLE AND 8 POLE IT IS AROUND 35-45% OF FULL
LOAD CURRENT. FOR HIGHER POLES THE NO LOAD CURRENT EQUALS
FULL LOAD CURRENT DUE CTO POOR NO LOAD POWER FACTOR.
