Purpose of providing neutral isolation panel for parallel operation of diesel generator
Answer / Rajesh Tejan
A Neutral Isolation Panel is used in the parallel operation of Diesel Generators to protect the main power system from the unbalanced loading that may occur during parallel operation. By isolating the neutral point, the generators can operate without causing ground loops and preventing damage to the equipment.nnDuring parallel operation, each generator supplies current to the load through its own phase wires, while the neutral wire connects all generators together. If the neutral loads are not balanced, a current flows between the neutral points of different generators, which can cause ground loops and possibly damage the equipment. By isolating the neutral point using a Neutral Isolation Panel, each generator operates independently without any unbalanced loading on the main power system.
