impact force is a type of force acting on a body by blowing
with hammer or applying pressure.but impulse is type of
force acting for a very short period of time

impulse is a load acting on the member with respect to time
ex: you can apply 1 KN load suddenly(impact load).
or in a specific load rate like 100 N/sec.
