What is the difference between heat capacity and specific heat of a material ?

Heat capacity refers to the amount of heat energy required to raise the temperature of a given mass of a substance by a certain temperature. Specific heat, on the other hand, represents the amount of heat energy needed to raise the temperature of one unit mass (per kilogram or per mole) of a substance by one degree Celsius.
