25KV IS A.C IN NATURE ,AS AT THIS VOLTAGE WE FIND OPTIMAL
COST OF TRANSMISSION AND DISTRIBUTION.

A senior lecturer well experienced in electrical eng said
that to avoid theft of railway equipments the use of
standard voltage(11KV,33KV etc.) equipments is avoided.
Only sub standard voltage levels are used..
