What is surger vector in 33Kv transmission feeder? We have
AC power generator of 8MW which is paralleled with 33Kv EB
grid. Some times our HT breaker gets trip off due to surge
vector problem. How to over come it? Is there any device to
observe the surge and avoid tripping?

What is surger vector in 33Kv transmission feeder? We have AC power generator of 8MW which is paral..

Answer / rajendran

I think the question is about the vector surges in the
transmission lines....

These surges are sharp dips in the quantity of the
transmission lines happening due to the severe loading or
faults in the transmission lines...

usually when the generators are connected in parrellel
with the grid it will be provideed with the VSR protection
inorder to avoid the overlaoding of the generator during
the micro second grid failures (during the vectro surge)...

We can not eliminate the inherent surges in the
transmission lines....

What is surger vector in 33Kv transmission feeder? We have AC power generator of 8MW which is paral..

Answer / senthil

this phenomena is called as vector surge, for examole line
is closed with out checking synchrnous , so due to
unbalance disturbance may happen, this can be sensed by
fixing vector surge relay

Answer / prem

you can use an M#3 relay for vector surge protection....
it is quiet useful and a little bit problamatis in programming

Ceiling fan motor wiring Hi, I have 2 ceiling fans broken. The receiver/control units burned out due to lightening. One Harbor Breeze and one Hunter's I took them apart (remove receiver units). Now on both of the motor I see 4 wires coming out from each motor I really want to know the function of each wire. Are there anyway I can test to see which is which? After searching forums I know these 4 wires are from 2 sets of coils inside the motor, one is Start winding and the other is Runing winding I could not find the receiver/control unit any where, so I am planing to buy Capacitors and universal remote controls to make the fans run again. Anyone has any idea how to do the wiring, please help Thnks
