1. what type of winding of slip ring ac induction motor rotor and why. 2. how the heating element ..

Answer / k.prakashchandra

Regular 3 phase windings for both stator and rotor.I don't
think heating element is provided .A low voltage is applied
to windings with help of a transformer so that a current
equal to or less than full load current is circulated to
warm up the windings .The voltage and capacity of this tr
depends on the rating of the motor. As the stator is normally
delta wound, one coil gets the full voltage and other two
50% each.As you press the start button ,the transformer gets
disconnected or you can switch it off beforehand.
