Answer / shaikh arif
drive speed is the speed equal to that of driving
mechanism.like the gear which is mounted on driving shaft
which is conected to motor.and driven speed is that which
is rotated by the driving mechanism.like the gear on other
shaft which is reciving power to the driving gear.

Ex: Motor drive and Pumps is Driven
Here is Motor is the basic source for rotation whethere it
is motor or turbine or by ur hand also.
all these are used to ratate something.
Ex. if u want power, then u have to rotate generator. For
this generator rotation, u have to rotate gas turbine or
steam turbine or hydraulic turbine.
here turbine is the driver and generator is the driven

in car, engine speed is the drive speed, wheel speed is the driven speed.i.e.engine is the drive and the wheel is the driven.
drive speed will be higher than driven speed depends on the application.

Answer / sujay.........
In MOTOR & GEARBOX.
The motor is coupled to the input shaft of the gearbox by
suitable coupling.
In this arrangement motor output shaft rpm is transmitted
to the gearbox input shaft.
So in this, drive speed is the speed of the motor & driven
speed is the speed of input shaft of gearbox.
Input shaft speed of the gearbox is not equal to output
shaft. it may be greater or lower depending on the gear
ratios.
