equivalent circuit of transformer in parallel?why cant it
be in series.

Answer / chakravarthi
As no load losses are associated with voltage (Iron & stray
losses), not associated with current (copper losses).

Answer / himanshu sinha
As no-load current comprises of magnetising current and
core losses, friction and windage loss and no-load copper
losses which are constant and are a part of the primary
current. So primary current at no-load is equal to sum of
the above.Hence connected in parallel.

Answer / atif rasheed khan
no load losses are always associated with the applied
voltage, and the voltage at parallel is always equivalent to
the applied voltage, so if there occurs any change in supply
voltage, than the no load losses will also be changed
because they are in parallel with the supply voltage, so
therefore we connect the no load components or no load
losses in parallel.
