if you want to make the deflection of voltmeter on 150 volt
on appling 100 V you can reduce the series resistance of
voltmeter it will cause more current to folw through it and
will show more (false) reading. But if you actually want to
increase its range to 150 volt i.e. it can measure upto 150
V you have to increase the series resistance

Ther are following solutions.
1. increase the souce voltage up to 150V, which is being
measured by voltmeter.
2. volt meter measure the voltage by a niddle which is
clibrated to show difflection acording to magnetic force
develored in the potential coil. So increase the number of
turns up to 1.5 times of present no. of turns.
3. Replace the potential coil with new coil having
inductance 1.5 times of present potential coil.
Any way but why you want to do so.....plz tell me geetha...

Electricty is generated at around 16kV, then step up to 220kV for transmission then steped down to power transformers then DTs and then through the LT n/w it reaches the consumer end. At the consumer end 230V supply is required. So, why is electricity not generated directly at 230V and transmitted?
