The power consumption or the fan remains same when the
speed is change using ordinary electric regulator.Since the
power is wasted in resistor(regulator)..
But when the the speed of the fan is changed with the help
ELECTRONIC REGULATOR the power consumption of the fan also
changes...ie., when speed is decresed the power consumption
is also decresed...

i agree with you balaji,but i think when the speed of fan
decreses drop at electronic regulator increases and hence
the power..
