In case of 3Phase Supply,
Voltage R-Earth/Neutral - 220
Y-Earth/Neutral - 220
Z-Earth/Neutral - 220
Total is -> 660Volts

Then Why it is said that 3Phase supply is 440

In case of 3Phase Supply, Voltage R-Earth/Neutral - 220 Y-Earth/Neutral - 220 ..

Answer / sachin mahangade

this voltage measure in R-Y 440v Y-B 440v RB-440 v so this
said that 3 phase R-Y-B supply is 440 v

In case of 3Phase Supply, Voltage R-Earth/Neutral - 220 Y-Earth/Neutral - 220 ..

Answer / jmdt

we are calculating in phase to pase oly , so r-y, y-b, b-r
is 440 volt

In case of 3Phase Supply, Voltage R-Earth/Neutral - 220 Y-Earth/Neutral - 220 ..

Answer / zubair

in three phase supply there are three phases (here R, y,
and z) and only one neutral.
the voltage between any one phase and neutral is 220.
and the voltage between remaining two phases is 440.hence
the 3 phase supply is 440

In case of 3Phase Supply, Voltage R-Earth/Neutral - 220 Y-Earth/Neutral - 220 ..

Answer / padmavathi

If we measure R-Earth/ Neutral that is 1 PH. 3 Phase, 440V
means we have to measure Phase - Phase i.e. R-Y, Y-B, R-B

Is This Answer Correct ?    4 Yes 4 No

In case of 3Phase Supply, Voltage R-Earth/Neutral - 220 Y-Earth/Neutral - 220 ..

Answer / vinoth

the vole meter have 2 terminals only.... then how can we
mesure in 3 phase voltage... only chance mesure in 2 phases
only the 2 phase voltage 440

Is This Answer Correct ?    4 Yes 5 No

In case of 3Phase Supply, Voltage R-Earth/Neutral - 220 Y-Earth/Neutral - 220 ..

Answer / n

220 Multiply by root three is equal to 281.4 volts. for 440
volts single phase voltage up to 254 volts.

Is This Answer Correct ?    3 Yes 8 No

54 Comments Alok and Bhanu play the following min-max game. Given the expression N = 38 + X*(Y – Z) where X, Y and Z are variables representing single digits (0 to 9), Alok would like to maximize N while Bhanu would like to minimize it. Towards this end, Alok chooses a single digit number and Bhanu substitutes this for a variable of her choice (X, Y or Z). Alok then chooses the next value and Bhanu, the variable to substitute the value. Finally Alok proposes the value for the remaining variable. Assuming both play to their optimal strategies, the value of N at the end of the game would be?
