I have installed capacitor bank at secondary transformer.
cos phi is increase. but on load (far from transormer), it
still poor. Can anybody explain it??

capacitor bank will improve the power factor towards the
supply side only. ie if you are measuring the power factor
before the capacitor bank it will show the improved power
factor. But the same time when you measure it after the
bank it will show you the load power factor not the
improved power factor.

Capacitor Bank is used to improve the Power Factor.
As you said, Pf will increase only in the incomer side.
Because you have connected the capacitor bank in the
secondary side near the incomer. So if you need to improve
the pf near load, you need to place the capacitor bank near
the load, but according to the load. So if you put the
capapcitor banks near the load side, power factor will
improve not only in the load side, but also in the incomer
side.

Since the reactive power compensation (capacitor) is
provided on the LT side of the transformer, the
compensation will take place upstream from the point of
connection. Between the point of connection and the Load,
the reactive power still remains uncompensated. Hence, in
case the loads are not very small and vastly distributed in
the network, it is better to provide reactive compensation
at the load end itself. The only disadvantage is that
there should be arrangement to switch off these capacitors
when loads are not ON, otherwise, the capacitors themselves
would act as loads!

first a fall caluclate the reactive power. after that
according to reactive power caluclate requied capacitor to
be arrange then u will increase power factor.
kVAr = KW {tan(cos^-1 Phi e) - tan(Cos^-1 Phi d)}
Where - Phi e = existing Power Factor.
Phi d = Desired Power Factor.

Because the capacitor abnk provides the ractive power
needed near a transformer but it cant provide the
kvar required by the line so the power factor is still
low
