what is the use of choke on tube light fitting
Answers were Sorted based on User's Feedback
Answer / tubelight
at the time of starting the current will be very high.
to limit the current choke is used. by mutual induction
choke opposes the rate of change of current. and reduces
the change in current flow.
the high voltage production is only due to the usage of
capacitor.
that only produces high voltage.

1.It gives high voltage impulse for starting the lamp(about
1000 volts while starter opens)
2.Its gives low voltage(110V)while running.
3.It acts ballast.Ex.smoothens the current when the lamp is
running.

WHENEVER THE SUPPLY IS GIVEN TO THE TUBE
THE CHOKE WILL GIVE SUPPLY OF 1000V TO THE TUBE AND
TUBE GET IONISED AND FINALLY GLOWING ONCE IT STARTS
AFTER THAT STARTER IS OUT OF CIRCUIT

I think choke limits the current when current flows through
the ionized gas

when tubelight is on , due to choke voltage is increased to
1000 v and the gas in the tube light is ionised at this high
voltage . to ionise the gas in the tube light we use choke

Answer / ekta sengar
choke is a combination of inductor and resistance used to
maintain the sufficient voltage required by the tube light,
after the starter has already provided the high initial
voltage to start the tube light.

Choke provides high viltage(nearly 1000v) at starting
time . later on it regulates the voltage.

Answer / yuvaraj
it provides high voltage at the time of starting and
regulates the voltage at the time of glowing.
