What are the assumptions made in simple theory of bending?
Answer / Mukul Mishra
The Simple Theory of Bending assumes that the material is homogeneous and isotropic, the cross-sectional area remains constant throughout the length of the beam, the beam is subjected to a single load at its center, the beam undergoes small deflections, and the shear force and bending moment distributions are linear across the depth of the beam.
