The simple way of finding the leakage quantity and % in compressed air distribution system
Answer / Arvind Kumar Sinha
To find the leakage quantity and percentage in a compressed air distribution system, follow these steps:
1. Measure the total flow rate (Q) of the compressed air system at a given time.
2. Measure the pressure drop (ΔP) across the system during operation.
3. Identify the flow rate of compressed air being delivered to the tools and equipment (Q_used).
4. Calculate the total leakage flow rate (Q_leak) by subtracting Q_used from Q:n```math
Q_{leak} = Q - Q_{used}
```
5. To find the percentage of leakage, divide Q_leak by Q and multiply by 100%.n```math
Leakage \% = (Q_{leak} / Q) * 100%
```
