larger air gap is equal to higher reluctance so lower reactance  .so i=v/z(z=r+xl) so currnt will be high.thats why no load current in case of induction motor 20-30% of full load current as compare to transformer that is 2-5% of full load current

Large air gap .....more reluctance. ....need more current

as we see that in our country the power rating for transmission is always rated in multiple of 11 like 11kv,33kv,66kv132kv. So i want to know wht is reason or logic here.
