Power dist was first introduced in America with 110 v 60 hz.
Now if they want to switch over to 220 v ,all the present
appliances are to be replaced .

In America first preference is given to human safety. At
110volts humans may have little damage over 220/240volts.
The hysterisis losses at low voltages are reduced at higher
frequencies.
