Only incandescent bulb can work on AC as well as DC but not CFL. And yeah while changing the supply you must keep the magnitude the same.

1.A Lamp will only operate at its rated power at its rater voltage.
2.connected a 230 V (AC)Lamp to a 110 V (DC) supply its brightness would be very low.
3.brilliance at 230 V (AC)as at 230 V(DC)as a rule of thumb for fixed-value.
4.resistance a 10% drop in voltage results in a 19% drop in power.
