The main difference lies in their scope. Panel earthing grounds individual panels to prevent the panel from becoming a potential source of voltage during fault conditions, thereby protecting personnel and equipment within that specific panel. System earthing on the other hand, ensures the overall safety of the system by providing a common ground reference for all electrical components. The value of resistance in earthing depends on various factors such as soil resistivity, length of earth wire, cross-sectional area of earth wire, etc., and is typically calculated using specific formulas.
