The value of 'k' (electrical conductivity) in shell-type transformers can be higher due to their design. Shell-type transformers have a cylindrical core, which allows for better utilization of the magnetic material and results in lower core losses. Lower core losses lead to less heat generation, allowing the use of higher magnetization current (k value).
