CBCT is Core Balance Current Transformer. it will be having one winding passes over three phases and senses the zero sequence currents there by tripps the circuit through the breaker. its main purpose is to distinguish the earth faults from short circuit faults..i.e its operation depends up on the zero sequence currents that are produced when earth fault occurs.

MCB is used for high rating &MCB is used for lower rating.What is technical difference between ACB & MCB?
